Indian Coriander Seed Export

The global coriander seed export market is led by India, which dominates with over 54% of the market share, valued at approximately $95.93 million in 2023. India has seen significant growth in its coriander seed exports, with an increase of over 84% year-on-year between 2022 and 2023. Other key exporters include Italy, Bulgaria, and Spain, each contributing smaller but steady shares to the market. Italy, for instance, holds a 15.69% share, while Bulgaria stands at 8.84%.

Egypt, although a smaller player, has shown remarkable growth in recent years, with exports increasing by over 975% between 2022 and 2023. In contrast, countries like Argentina and Bulgaria experienced a decline in exports over the same period. Market trends suggest that the price of coriander seeds has fluctuated slightly, with a minor decrease of 0.58% over the past year.

According to the latest data from the Government of India (GOI), coriander exports in March 2024 reached approximately 8,289.76 metric tons (MT), marking a 26.03% increase from the previous month but a 36.06% decrease compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, coriander imports in March 2024 were about 721.04 MT, representing a 52.72% decline from the previous month.
